Privacy Policy
This policy explains what Specfold collects through the website at getspecfold.com and the app at specfold.app, what we do with it, and the choices you have. We don't sell personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.
Builders and their clients
Our customers are builders and remodelers. When a builder uploads a job, the files can include information about their clients, vendors and subcontractors. We handle that information on the builder's behalf and only to run Specfold for them. If you're a builder's client and have a question about your information, please contact the builder first; we'll help them answer it.
What we collect
- Account details: your name, email address, company name, web address and logo, and your role in the company.
- Mobile number: to confirm a new company with a one-time text message, and to make sure each number backs only one free plan.
- Job content: the files you upload (plans, specs, quotes, selection sheets, spreadsheets, photos, videos, messages) and what Specfold produces from them.
- Billing details: your plan, invoices and payment status. Card and bank details are entered with Stripe and stay there. We keep only an anonymous fingerprint of the payment method, which we use to stop one card or bank account from backing many accounts.
- Demo requests: the name, company, email, phone, number of projects and message you send us through the website.
- Security and usage records: sign-in attempts with IP address and browser type (to limit abuse and spot suspicious sign-ins), a log of the emails we send you (type and delivery status, not their contents), and records of changes made in your company's account.
How we use it
- To run Specfold: organize your jobs, build schedules, scope and documents, and show them to the people you choose.
- To send the emails the Service needs: sign-in codes, invitations, billing notices and replies to your messages.
- To bill you, prevent fraud and abuse of the free plan, and keep accounts secure.
- To provide support and fix problems.
We don't use your content to train AI models.
AI processing
To read your files, Specfold sends their contents to AI model providers (Anthropic, Google and OpenAI) through their business APIs. Under those providers' API terms, the content isn't used to train their models. We send only what's needed to process the job.
Who processes data for us
We use these service providers to run Specfold. Each gets only what it needs for its part.

We may also share information when the law requires it, to protect people or the Service, or as part of a merger or sale of the business, in which case this policy continues to apply to it.
Cookies
The app uses cookies only to keep you signed in and to remember which company you last opened. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies. The website loads its fonts from Google Fonts, which receives your IP address when the page loads.
How long we keep it
- Account and job data stay while your company uses Specfold.
- When a paid plan ends, archived jobs and their files are deleted 30 days later.
- If you ask us to delete your company, we delete its data within 30 days, apart from billing records we must keep by law. Backups expire on their own schedule shortly after.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Each company's data is kept apart from every other company's at the database level, files are private and opened only through short-lived links, and sign-in uses one-time codes instead of passwords.
Your choices and rights
You can see and change most of your information in the app. Email us to get a copy of your data, correct it, or have it deleted, and we'll respond within 30 days. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights under local law; we'll honor them. We won't treat you differently for using them.
Where data is stored
Specfold's data is stored in the United States.
Children
Specfold is a business tool and isn't meant for anyone under 18.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy, we'll email account owners before it takes effect and update the date above.
